You’re from the south; does that ever influence your designs?
The way it plays into my design philosophy is that when I was growing up women I was with were always dressed. They were always dressed for everything; it was never ‘throw on a tee and shorts’. It’s something that I’ve always appreciated and I think it makes you feel better when you look good, when you are wearing something and you look and feel good. I think you greet the day and everything that you do in a different way. I’m always designing for that woman who has that philosophy.
