Marc Jacobs and Sofia Coppola
The progeny of renowned director Francis Ford Coppola, Sofia has certainly proved to be talented in her own right. The Academy Award-winning filmmaker and actress also has the title of certified muse under her belt, thanks to her long-running friendship with Marc Jacobs.
Acquainted since she was 18 and Jacobs was designing for Perry Ellis, Coppola and the prolific designer have come together countless times—from her starring in Marc Jacobs ads, to their attending the Met Costume Gala together more than once, and even to a shoe and purse design collaboration at Louis Vuitton, where Jacobs has been the creative director since 1997.
Jacobs has been famously quoted describing Coppola as
