The Museum at FIT
The Fashion Institute of Technology Museum is is home to the largest collection (50,000) of costumes, textiles and apparel from the 18th century to present day. FIT has the only museum in NYC dedicated solely to the art of fashion. Different exhibits throughout the year range from fashion photography to jewelry design to runway ensembles. Some notable designers that the museum features include Balenciaga, Chanel, and Dior.
Upcoming Exhibitions: Black Fashion Designers (December 6-May 16) and Paris Refashioned, 1957-1968 (February 10-April 15).
