A Sundae that needs no explanation, Serendipity 3's infamous and aptly named $1000 "Golden Opulence Sundae" was first created in 2004 to celebrate the restaurant's 50th anniversary. Made with 3 scoops of Tahitian vanilla ice cream infused with Madagascar vanilla beans, this supreme sundae is completed with 23K edible gold leaf, some of the world's rarest chocolates, candied fruits, gold dragets, chocolate truffles and topped off with a bowl of caviar. According to a rep for the restaurant, only 200 of these decadent desserts have been sold since its inception.
