Golden Opulence Sundae

Golden Opulence SundaeThis $1,000 dessert holds the 2007 Guinness World Record for the most expensive sundae in the world. The restaurant sells about one sundae per month, and requires a reservation 48 hours in advance since ingredients need to be flown in from all over the world. Created to celebrate the restaurant’s 50th “golden” anniversary, this sundae consists of 3 scoops of Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream infused with Madagascar vanilla, chocolate syrup from Amedei Porcelana, pieces of Chuao chocolate (cocoa beans from the Caribbean Sea on the coast of Venezuela), candied fruits from Paris, Grand Passion dessert caviar, and is topped off with 23k of gold leaf (edible, of course!). If you want to dine like royalty, try this dessert. Serendipity 3, 225 E 60th St, NYC [Photo via @ms_heelzz]
