Why: The Horticultural Society of New York (The Hort) will host its “Block Party 2014,” a silent art auction event sponsored by Shady Records on June 11th featuring new and original artwork by prominent and up-and-coming international artists. Located at the Arsenal in Central Park, the event’s proceeds will benefit the Hort’s GreenHouse program, which offers horticultural therapy and vocational training for inmates on Rikers Island.
