Alan: When we first started we wanted to create clothing for the person who dressed up
Donna: That was also the time - it was more dressy then. It's just how the fashion has evolved. Now you really want to showcase the person, not the pieces. Designers used to dictate what people wore, but now it is the people who dictate what fashion is through blogs and street style. It's "trickle up." In the '60s that happened, and it's happening again now.
It forces people to stay more on top of it. Trends are coming faster and faster which makes space for more individualism and expression in a way.
