Most of your jackets are made to order. Do clients ever work with you to create the perfect piece?
I love working with clients to create a special story. Working with brides to create wedding jackets with special "something blue" linings or little poems or verses written into my tags. My tags are handwritten and I personalize each piece for the individual. I'm very lucky because my clients are very trusting - the best work comes with a few ideas of what someone might like, and the possibility to improvise or make changes as the pieces comes to life. I find the when you are able to relinquish control a little, something beautiful can come forth. It's a metaphor for my life too! It's good to have an idea of goals, but you can't map everything out and plan your life to death. You gotta allow for a little inspiration and improvisation.
