The Horrors-Jack the Ripper

The Horrors-Jack the Ripper
With their dark hair, dark clothes, and dark sound, The Horrors could certainly be considered a modern incarnation of the aforementioned Bauhaus, a love of whom the founding members bonded over upon first meeting. In 2007, The Horrors released "Jack the Ripper" as the first track off their debut album. Originally written and recorded by Screaming Lord Sutch in the 1960s, it became a cult classic among garage bands and was also covered by The White Stripes and Black Lips. Like "Bela Lugosi's Dead," its repetitive sound and gloomy groan of vocals (not to mention its gruesome namesake) can create an air of eeriness at even the most crowded party.
