Are there any fashion trends that you've seen on the runways that you are excited about?Titania Inglis is my favorite so far. It's like a architectural cyborg but with all organic fabrics and it's totally made of sustainable fashion, which is important. Rebecca Minkoff was rad - to actually have Janelle Monae perform live on stage with her whole band, and it was just such great energy coming from a DJ persective. Live music is always exciting to see. Hpw do you choose your music? Where do you get your inspiration?Well, I'm just kind of a music nerd, and Iv'e been collecting records since i was like 13 years old. And I spend a lot of time looking up new music and going on SoundCloud, and looking up new bands. And now a lot of people send me their music. I now have a website called 13:13, and it's sort of a music blog with fashion elements and art. I have an email address there, and a lot of new or upcoming bands will email me their stuff. Often times, I'll end up featuring them because there's alot of really great stuff. I just am working with this band now called Azar Swan, and I put them in the runway show. It's an electronic deal - a guy and a girl, and she kind of sounds like Kate Bush. She has a beautiful voice.What else are you listening to? What's on your iPod?I don't allow myself to have any music on my phone because I'm that crazy. When I'm out, I try to read a book on the train. I just saw Nine Inch Nails last weekend in Philly, and their new album is amazing. MS MR - they're amazing. I also find myself listening to old stuff. Like at home, my roommate and I have been listening to "Rumors" by Fleetwood Mac, just to kind of take it down a notch. Also, I'm listening to a lot of electronic music. My boyfriend does a techno project called Vatican Shadow, and he's on tour in Europe right now. But his whole world is kind of bringing in some new, cool stuff. There's a band called Tropic of Cancer that I really like right now, an electronic girl duo from L.A. and personal friends of mine. I do a lot on my website, and I put a mix up for every personal season, so you can go and pick your season on 13:13.
