In your opinion, when does a photograph meant to capture a piece of clothing cross the line into becoming a work of art in itself?
This is very difficult to put into words since it is an overall feeling one gets when viewing an image. But I would say when the image becomes more captivating than the subject, it is advertising or promoting. Also fashion photography extends beyond clothing but to beauty, cosmetics and accessories.
