Interview: Miss Lily's Resident DJ Max Glazer On The Shop's One-Year Anniversary
Now, you have a 43-minute mega-mix on the album. How did you work that out?
I wanted to give people a bonus, a little something extra, and what better than a continuous megamix of some favorite Miss Lily's selections. This way you have something to play if you're having your own little party or just sitting at your desk in need of some island vibes.What are the ideal listening conditions (for the tracks and the megamix) for someone who can't make it to Miss Lily's? In other words, how can listeners around the world recreate Miss Lily's "island aesthetic" vibe?I feel like you can listen to this anywhere at any time. The idea is to have a piece of Miss Lily's with you wherever you go. When you're physically out of range, we can still be there with you. As far as recreating the vibe, being somewhere warm doesn't hurt. If that's not possible, you can always crank up your thermostat.Beyond DJing for Miss Lily's and a number of notable artists, you're also the main resident DJ of Radio Lily. How has that experience been?It has been an incredible experience. It's a new challenge for me and it has provided so many great opportunities. It's amazing to have artists like Sean Paul, Jimmy Cliff, Johnny Osbourne and Snoop (Lion) Dogg come by and take the time to talk with us. It's also a great feeling when people come in and say they've been listening, or walk up and ask what's playing. It's such a unique station, group of DJs and location that it feels brand new every day. I truly enjoy exposing people to the music that I love, and that's exactly what Radio Lily is about.
