What can we expect from the event space at the Highline Stages?
When you walk in, at Highline Stage, the event will be spread across a total of 17,000 square feet, on two floors, and you'll feel like you're in a mini Meatpacking district. The way we're building up the space will pay homage to the district. The booths will be made of wooden pallet with corrugated iron roofs, so that it'll feel like the old Meatpacking District. It'll be a visual expression of our history. We're raising money to fund our services, such as the Clean Pavement program, so we've brought one of our public plazas inside. When you go upstairs, you'll see that we've created one of the cobbled public plazas with chairs, where we'll be serving dessert, so you can really get a sense of what we're trying to do. What's amazing about the way the Meatpacking District is laid out is that there is so much for everyone, and it's all so much more accessible than people give it credit for being. Walking through the district, going from a shop, to a restaurant, to a gallery is very organic. So inside, you'll have a sample sale next to a restaurant, or a bar, even the Whitney, which has a booth. It's a smaller space, but there's a great feel to it. [Photo via]
