You've also had some prominent artists exhibit here. How does that change your approach?

When we did Michael Kagan, he had a piece here for $20k on that wall, floor to ceiling. And I was like that’s great, but we also had a $100 print, and a $75 skate deck. They can put in as expensive of a piece as they wanted to, as long as they had something available that was $100-200. Because the whole concept that I believe is that art should be affordable. At some point you should be able to have a piece of artwork, that’s not like from Ikea. When we did the Kenzo Minami show we had him paint the space and there was nothing to sell, and I’m like 'Great!' I don’t give a shit about making money from an art show. Sean March, Kenzo, and I sat there and painted that wall for like 2 weeks. Rivington Design House
