Why did you choose New York to feature for your podcast?

Why did you choose New York to feature for your podcast?

Young: No other city has the history of New York. The amazing, intelligent, influential people that came through here, but more importantly, the millions upon millions of people who we don't know - they helped create this city as well. I think New York can be very daunting, but there's so much about it that can be relatable to so many people's experiences, no matter where you came from. Meyers: I just got an e-mail from a friend of mine who is Dutch and lives in Paris, and he saw something on a website that was about 'what is it about America that foreigners don't understand,' and one of them was that the world doesn't get how the US does it. How do we all put up with each other? All these people from different places, with different customs, with different beliefs. There's a lot of tolerance. The city isn't a melting pot, it's a tossed salad. It's all of these cultures and people living together at the same point. All we know is that we backed into this subject that has an endless number of angles to cover. Young: After 9/11, the image of the city has changed, has been enhanced greatly. Thanks to shows, like 'Seinfeld' and 'Sex and the City,' there are more shows than ever before that are based in New York. The world is seeing us now, more than ever. [Photo via]
