A really good one - I accidentally dropped my CA drivers license out of my pocket (I don't carry a purse often) walking home through the West Village a few weeks ago. I considered it gone forever and got a replacement ID (my first New York State ID, woohoo). A few days ago I was scrolling through comments on an old Instagram photo and noticed that someone had left me a message - they had my ID and wanted to return it to me. Long story short - a friend of theirs was visiting Manhattan from South Carolina earlier this summer. They picked my ID up in the street but didn't know who it belonged to. Last week they showed it to their friend and bingo! She knew who I was in an instant and reached out. Happy to say my drivers license is now back with me, safe and sound.
