How long, research and all, did this book take you to get out?
Between three and four years of research and writing, but it's really been a life-long project. I had read so much Lost Generation lit (I am a F. Scott Fitzgerald addict), and so much about the period that I already had a good starter library at home when I first committed to Everybody Behaves Badly. But now my Hemingway and Lost Generation library easily houses 400 books, if not more - many of them wonderful, out-of-print memoirs that contain so much great color.
