An Alternative To Selling Your Stuff On eBay: The Shopping Box

by CATHY LEVETT · June 8, 2010

Tired of going through all that work to sell something on eBay? Well we've got good news for you! A new store just opened last Friday in Nolita called the Shopping Box: NY's 1st & Original Cube Store. By renting out a box in the store, you can sell basically anything- as long as it fits! -

Boxes start at $1.66/per day and there is everything from key chains to designer purses for sale. This store is not just all about selling items though, there are also many items for purchase that came from Asia and the rest of the world.

When I entered the store, I got a "boutique" feel, quickly discovering a rack of clothing and shoes sold exclusively by the store. Much to my dismay, I also learned that most of the boxes were already taken. That doesn't surprise me though; what a genius idea!

I couldn't help but wonder though, where is the line drawn to what is allowed in these boxes? I mean, this could potentially be a disaster! Could you sell your dog or cat? What about food? This would add a lot of flavor to the store! Think about it.

Check it out today! The Shopping Box is open everyday and is located at 360 Broome Street, New York, NY 10013. You can also visit their site to learn more or contact the store.
