She's the only character who would be acceptable in 2017
While Cruel Intentions is no doubt a classic movie, there is absolutely no way that it would be acceptable to make a film like this set in 2017. Sebastian would be called out for being a sex predator because he did coerce Cecile into sex. Shame on us for turning a blind eye to it. Annette would be seen as preachy and holier than thou because she gets up on her soapbox about everything. Cecile would be seen as...well, let's face it, Cecile sucked then and she would suck now. The only exception to the rule is Kathryn. She's self-possessed, fearless, and totally sexy, so she would absolutely be revered in 2017, and any time period.
