Ambient Joys: New Website Is Every Brian Eno Fan's Wet Dream

by BILLY GRAY · December 11, 2009

Some people might have their doubts about Vevo, the new music video outlet brought to us by Google and YouTube. But this website that allows visitors to play up to 20 independent and seemingly disparate YouTube musical numbers at once to form one fantastic whole has us hooked. As we head into the weekend, make some sweet music of your own.

As the site's name, In B Flat, implies, the only thing these pieces have in common is their key. But the eclectic roster of instruments and musicians makes for quite the harmonic melange (although you might have to give it a few seconds for that to really become clear). The coolest thing about this program is its seemingly endless combinations: you can play however many of the videos you want in any order you choose and start them at any time you like. The results will still impress.

For the cynics and metalheads, remember you can't spell ambient music without Ambien, so if nothing else, this will make for some sweet dreams.
