Pete’s Candy Store 709 Lorimer Street Brooklyn, New York 11211 Speaking of incorporating drinking into things we did as children -- Pete’s Candy Store hosts “The Williamsburg Spelling bee” the first Monday of every month. Even though we were initially disappointed to find out that Pete’s is not the Willy Wonka-esque bar we had envisioned we were pleasantly surprised by what we did find: cheap drinks, good food, and a friendly crowd.
