Brandon Duff - Atera

Brandon Duff - Atera
There are a few New York restaurants that rest in the upper echelon of contemporary, fine dining. Atera is among that group, regarded with equal acclaim as Eleven Madison Park or the Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare. In December, they opened up a basement lounge, where guests are treated to cocktails made with the same diligence and consideration as the food upstairs. Head bartender Brandon Duff formerly worked as a cafe barista before joining Weather Up and developing his mixology expertise.
"I think a big spring cocktail trend is in the use of fresh herbs. The drink you tried when you were in has Gin, Maraschino, clarified grapefruit juice, beets, and rue. Rue has a beautiful aromatic quality and pairs perfectly with the maraschino."
