Gone are the days of the "All You Can Drink" birthday specials for beer enthusiasts at the shuttered Stanton Public. In it's place Noel Ashman and company are opening a new lounge in what they consider NYC's next hot neighborhood for night crawlers.
Last night I attended a pre-opening construction party at Ashman's new spot The Elsinore. The party was true to theme as the space is still very raw (you close the bathroom doors by placing the latch into a hole in the wall), leaving much to the imagination in terms of what the finished product will look like. It's Fashion Week though, so plywood stall doors be damned, you gotta throw a party!
The one finished design aspect was the main bar made of refurbished stained glass doors, giving us a small glimmer of the design direction. Word around town is the space will look dramatically different for Richie Rich's Fashion Week after-party on February 15th, I guess we will have to wait and see.
