Saturday: No. 8

Saturday: No. 8
Then it was off to No. 8 which is still delivering the goods with Hendrix-Hipsters, Studio 54mal Wear, androgynous paramilitants from '80s sci-fi movies, pint-size entrepreneurs, straight-up cuties, and legit fucking DJs. No offense to the current crop of pretty DJs, and no offense to Statik Selektah either for that matter but this is what a DJ is supposed to look like, and more importantly it’s what a DJ is supposed to sound like. Patrick Baril was in full beast mode on the turntables which is befitting Rec Room. Playing '90s hip hop cut with the original funk and soul tracks sampled to make those classic Cam’Ron, Biggie, Eve, and Jay-Z cuts, as well as some welcome curve balls like Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Under The Bridge which had EVERYONE singing along.
