Is "yippee" really the response merited by a murderer's release from prison; after serving only 10 years for killing and dismembering a friend?? Shame on you!!

michael alig is almost 50 years old now. I heard when he gets out of jail that he is going to reunite with Peter Gatien and the club kids for one more go around

My word some people are so negative on here. Take your negativity somewhere else. People half their moments of insanity and some are worse than others, yes he killed someone, but he served his time and it's time for him to get out and live the rest of his life in the world. And he's only 43, not 50.  

Samantha. I hope there are people in your life you value you more than Mr. Alig valued the life of Mr. Melendez. Your lack of empathy is very telling about you as a person. Micheal Alig killed and dismembered another human being, and if someone brings it up you call them negative. I feel sorry for those who love you.

I feel he has done his time, drugs make you do crazy things. I was a club kid in cali on drugs and was out of control..I got clean and my life got better.....  

The man killed someone, regardless if he was high or not he took someone's life! For you people to celebrate his possible release and act as if its the return of a conquering hero is sad and pathetic beyond belief. Has he paid his debt to society? I don't know, try asking the Melendez family.

i think he is getting out this september. Yes he killed someone. But I think it was in a drug induced rage. In reality the other guy hit him over the head with the hammer 1st. Michael was being attached 1st supposedly. No it doesnt make any of it right. Nor does chopping up the body. yes its sick. But he does seem remorseful over it. Its just sad what he did for nyc nightlife back in the day and that it doesnt exist anymore. NYC sucks now. I doubt he'll get back into the scene BUT if he does Im right there with him. Yes I sound nuts i know but wow the 90's were amazing in NY. all the clubs are closed now. its like fing disney land here.  

he did not kill anyone.. it was the other guy, Michael s done his time.. the club life is not the same without him.. it s all gone boring.. would love for Alig to come back to the club scene with other cool ideas...can t wait for him to get out..  

So when is getting out? I hear its march 2011. I'm too young to have lived those glory days of the club kids, but man, I wish I could've... well here in el paso, tx we have many gay bars but the one that comes closest to the ny club scene is The OP (old plantation)... it gets super packed on fridays and its a haven for gay club kids in the making.. I hope to one day own a club and bring back the club scene like the 80s/early 90s.  

If Michael gets out and wants to begin a new life, which every1 deserves a second chance, he is welcome to start that new life w/out harassment in sw Mo. He will always have a place here. I'm not a man and im not gay, I only want to help him find happiness and peace  

when people do drugs and stay up for several days.. they lose their fucking minds. they aren't themselves. they did like $5,000 or $3,000 worth of shit. when people are that fucked up, their morals go out the window and they do whatever they can to feed their addiction. doesn't matter that angel was a dealer. michael robbed him of money he couldnt afford to just have lost and be fine in the long run. yeah, it was fucked up what michael did.. but when you're twacked out you're no longer in control. it's not a matter of if michael should be released. it's a matter of has he spent his jail time trying to perminatly end his addiction.. or has he been buying shit on and off during the past decade. if that is the case, he more than likely belongs in a long-term type rehab. he wouldn't be trapped in a cell to be alone with his mind, he'd been in a good enviornment surrounded by people with positive energy. perhaps after that is done, could the world be sure he has really changed his life and wants to move on.  

I'm so happy he'll be out in 2012 or 2013 finally. The NYC life has sucked since he's been away. I write him all the time and he's cleaned up.  

I just got a letter from Michael Alig today. He's still in the hole! It must be terrible there in prison.
