The Jane Ballroom
The hardest part of enjoying the sleek ambiance of the Jane Hotel is getting through the door. If you manage to make your way in, the living room with the large fireplace of the Jane Ballroom is the place to be in Greenwich Village. The old world feel--the hotel was a temporary home to passengers of the Titanic--boasts antique rugs, stuffed animals, and velvet-draped windows.

The drink list is good, too, including the Orient Express and Punjab cocktails. However, if you want to go a bit rustic, it's not too shameful to order a Budweiser next to the grand fireplace.
