- - - - Analysis: So you've managed to get her number and begin courting her. Now it comes time for the first date. Almost 40% of the women I surveyed would prefer a low key meeting for drinks. It also never hurts to come up with something really creative and think outside the box. A quarter of the girls would like you to surprise them with something unexpected. I realize this is kind of vague. I get invited to a lot of cool events, so I can usually bring a date to those. However, if you live in the NYC area there are always plenty of great events and performances going on. I check out the Time Out New York website's event listings pretty frequently. A lot of girls warned to stay away from inviting them to movies because there really isn't much time to get to know each other.
