Chan Luu began working with the Ethical Fashion Initiative after meeting its founder, Simone Cipriani, in Haiti. A strong advocate for women and charity, Chan was inspired by what he was trying to accomplish and wanted to further promote work in underdeveloped countries. She began training artisans and developing sustainable industries in Kenya and in Haiti. Since 2012, she has developed work opportunities for over 1,000 artisans; 90% of whom are women.
