There's a reason why the Cloisters are included on every "must-see" guide in the city. You think you're just hiking in a park when all of a sudden you look to your left and through the trees a freaking medieval castle emerges. Seriously. They flew over from Europe pieces of a medieval church and reconstructed it at the tip of Manhattan. It's a part of the Met exclusively holding medieval art and other artifacts. And, like the best part of the Met, it's all pay-what-you-can. If you haven't gone here yet, it's time to make a day of it.
