Free Kayaking at The New York City Downtown Boathouse
Get ready for an open water adventure at this free kayaking haven that boasts three locations along the Hudson River (at Pier 40, Pier 96th and West 72nd Street). Sign a waiver and strap on a life jacket before cruising the Hudson for up to twenty minutes at a time, or longer if there are no lines.
Head to Pier 96 for lessons on paddling as well as guided weekend trips that span up to five miles.
