My first apartment was a Yale art professor's studio on Canal Street with a cast iron cage makeshift lofted bed. There was also no bathroom (only a shower that connected to the sink). There was a spectacular view of the Manhattan Bridge and it was across from my favorite Swedish cafe Good World...
