Shakespeare

Shakespeare Garden
In 1913, this four-acre garden was christened in the Bard’s name to celebrate the tercentennial of his death, and only flowers that he mentioned in his poems and plays are planted here. Located between The Swedish Cottage and Belvedere castle, the beautifully landscaped area also features plaques with quotations from Shakespeare's masterpieces. BONUS! The Charles B. Stover Bench in Shakespeare Garden. Look for a path on the left that leads to this secluded semicircular granite bench. Nicknamed the “Whisper Bench,” you and a friend can sit on either end it and even the faintest whisper will sound perfectly clear to the person at the other end! West side between 79th and 80th Streets; enter at Central Park West and 72nd Street [Photo via]
