Careening cyclists
Despite appearances, no New Yorker ever traverses a crosswalk carelessly, even when they have the light and the vehicle at the intersection has come to a full stop. And cyclists are to thank for that. You will, yet again, have a brush with mortality and have your life flash before your eyes if you don't check for bicycles zooming your way before you step off that curb.
Once someone decides to use a bike as their mode of transportation, some kind of neural switch flips that makes them think "yes I'll definitely speed through this red light; I am definitely exempt from traffic laws." These peddlers may be saving the world by preserving fossil fuels, but they're also endangering the public at large and really stressing us the f*ck out.
