Sunday: The Parents Guide

parentsSometimes, what you really need is just some quality time with Mom and Dad. They're coming in for the day and you want to prove to them that you're not only surviving in the city, but you know it like the back of your hand. Check below to see what's on the agenda. What to bring: Camera, comfy shoes, sunglasses, Metrocard, show tickets Brunch: Head Uptown and keep it classic with brunch at the timeless Sarabeth's. With dreamy treats like Four Flowers Juice and Lemon and Ricotta Pancakes, they're sure to enjoy themselves. Treat them to Mimosas to show them what a wonderful hostess you have become! Afternoon: Work off Brunch by taking a leisurely walk through the beautiful Upper East Side and end up at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. There, mosey around the Charles James: Beyond Fashion exhibit with Mom (it's absolutely stunning) while Dad can head upstairs and check out the Burdick Baseball Collection (if your bf is still around, have him tag along!). Meet up together again atop the Museum on the stunning Roof Deck, order some drinks at the Rooftop bar and take in the incredible view together. Before long, you'll realize you've spent the whole afternoon there! Dinner: Put the Upper East Side vibes behind you and head back downtown to the bright lights of Broadway. There, take them to dinner at Bar Boulud, the perfect pre-theater meal spot. The gourmet menu will put them in the perfect mood for a night at the theatre! Night: Do some walking again and catch the 8 PM showing of Of Mice and Men at the Longacre Theatre. Starring James Franco, Chris O'Dowd, and Leighton Meester, this show is sure to please everyone - fun celebs for you, a great performance for Mom, and some classic John Steinbeck for Dad.
