Mermaid Parade
When: June 18, 2016 at 1pm
Where: Surf Avenue at Coney Island
Spend your afternoon under the sea (or next to it, close enough). Founded in 1983, it is the nation's largest art parade. Participants flaunt their artistry and appreciation for seaside mythology. Registration to march in the parade is priced, but watching bedazzled mermaids and sea creatures is free. After the event, you can walk down the boardwalk and explore Coney Island.
