Public Parks and Dog Runs
Soak up the sun in one of city's expertly designed public parks. Bring a book and a bite to eat before sprawling out on the grass. Popular choices for people watching (and maybe meeting) include Central Park's Sheep Meadow and Hudson River Park, which has the added bonus of pretty, waterside views.
Dog owners may want to take Fido out and relax at one of the city's always busy dog runs. The newly designed one at Washington Square Park attracts a mixed crowd and offers ample seating space.
