Last night five hundred New Yorkers attempted to break the Guinness World Record of most speed dates in a single location at OnSpeedDating.com and GroupOn.com's World's Largest Dating Event. The party at Slate was open to both homo and heterosexuals looking to find companions and friends. The singles were ready to mingle while sipping drinks, socializing, and speed gaming.

In addition to the usual speed dating conversations, there was also love and sex tarot card readings, eFlirt gave online dating advice, Usnaps.com photo booths, and a So You Think You Can Dance Off. DJ Cisco spun the hottest hip-hop and Top 50 hits all night. For the first 450 registrants the event was divided into different themes including "Beauty and the Geek", "Boys Night" for gay men, "Corporate America", "Size Matters" for men 6'1+ and women who like taller men, "Puppy Love" for dog lovers, "Fitness Singles", "New to New York", "Have Passport Will Travel" for worldly individuals", and "Girls Night" for lesbian women. With twenty, three minute dates, attendees were able to meet forty singles during an hour. With a close to record breaking turn out, the night was an opportunity of fun and allowed many singles to make love connections.
