Other details: Last night, the Museum of Moving Images honored Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Home Box Office, Inc., Richard Plepler, and the Co-Anchor of CBS This Morning and Anchor and Executive Editor of Charlie Rose on PBS, Charlie Rose, in the rooftop ballroom of the St. Regis Hotel. As guests came off the elevator, they were walked down a beautiful carpet to take pictures and enjoy cocktails from a variety of bars scattered along the top floor. Before long, the room was buzzing with television actors, actresses, and executives alike as that all joined together to celebrate the honoring of two very fine men. When it came time to serve dinner, guests were escorted into the dimly lit ballroom where beautiful crystal chandeliers lined the ceilings. The Co-Chairman of the Board for the MMI, Herbert S. Schlosser, opened the evening with remarks to both honorees, and then handed off the mic to the director of the MMI, Carl Goodman. After a wonderful speech and video, dinner was served and the guests dined until John Oliver was called to the stage. Oliver gave a hilariously entertaining speech about both men and America that had the entire room laughing. Fareed Zakaria then gave a toast on behalf of Richard Plepler. Gayle King, Norah O’Donnell, and Yvette Vega toasted on behalf of Charlie Rose. Both Plepler and Rose gave incredibly humbling and inspiring speeches as they accepted their honors. Once both men spoke, the night came to a close but guests such as Steve Buscemi, Allison Williams, Zosia Mamet, Bryant Gumbel, and many more stayed around to enjoy dessert and take pictures with each other.
