Estelle's Album Launch Party

EstelleWhere: NeueHouse Who was there: Guests included Estelle, Danyel Smith Other details: Last night, Gilt City teamed up with Grammy Award-winning artist, Estelle, for her True Romance Album Party at NeueHouse. The space looked like an elegant library, decorated with rose petals and candles. Notable guests indulged in Canti Prosecco wine and a menu of appetizers, each named after the album's themes: Passion, Courage, True Romance, and The Bullshit. Before the performance, we caught up with Estelle on all things fashion week and her new album. In regards to fashion week, Estelle said that she's attending so many events including DVF, which she's looking forward to the most. Though all the champagne makes her tired, she still plans on going to all the after-parties! On her personal style, Estelle said she has a classic, clean style but will show some skin (like the outfit she wore last night) while still being lady like. Estelle explained her new album's themes are passion, courage, true romance, and the bullshit. She wrote it when she was in between a break up and wanting to be happy. She went through new emotions and wanted to convey this in her music. Estelle doesn't stick to one style of music, so some of the songs in the album are upbeat, while others are more sad. All of them convey the feeling of being human. For the remainder of the evening, guests mingled and awaited Estelle’s performance. On stage, Estelle performed "American Boy" first. Next, she sang "Conqueror," which she said was about the underdogs and getting yourself off the ground after people say you can't do something. Finally, she sang "Silly Girls," another song from True Romance. After she performed, she did a quick Q&A with Danyel Smith where she talked about her album and said that the two things she wants most are “to be a real nice human being and be 100% to her art”.
