Where: The Box Other details: A scantily clad performer welcomed guests to The Box with a sultry performance, hovering just above the bar in a suspended hoop. Dressed in a pink satin ensemble (suspenders and all), and framed by two chandeliers and a disco ball, she summoned the occasional spin from bartenders and onlookers as up-tempo Michael Jackson filled the dim, red-tinged room. The prosecco was flowing as Master of Ceremonies Kimberly Nicole led the showcase in a pink and black corset dress along with her three backup performers, in various states of undress. The set was complete with draped red velvet curtains, smoke and a strip of marquee lights. Nicole’s renditions of “Sex on Fire” and “I Put a Spell on You” paired perfectly with the girls dancing on chairs and crawling up the stage’s stairs, to the delight of the small, snap-happy group of men sitting front and center. Another performer expertly knotted and released herself from a suspended sheet while Little Dragon’s “Please Turn” kept up the pace.
