Where: MatchaBar Other details: On Friday the new Williamsburg matcha cafe MatchaBar hosted a party celebrating their opening. The cafe, situated perfectly on a bustling block of Williamsburg that includes the Wythe Hotel, Kinfolk Studios, and Output, drew in a crowd of people who came to try the tea but ended up sipping on beers the owners supplied themselves. While coffee, tea, and small pastries are also sold, the cafe specializes in matcha, a concentrated, finely powdered green tea that offers superior nutritional benefits. While servers were making matcha drinks such as the iced watermelon and vanilla almond for the room, a DJ spun tunes and guests partied to commemorate their new favorite cafe.
