The opening night was held at Prospect Park, where people lined up in masses to get a chance to see Janelle Monáe ring in the festival. Before the show, special guests of the Gala where offered a dinner, as they honored Kenneth Adams, President & CEO of Empire State Development and Commissioner of the New York State Department of Economic Development. Monáe's performance set the mood, as guests filed into the after party, ready to dance. Yesterday marks a whole summer of performances and events hosted by Celebrate Brooklyn!
