The host and spokesperson of this event, Kerry Washington, stood stunningly as she eloquently spoke on the financial abuse that traps women in an abusive relationship. Guests listened to Washington as hors d’oeuvres and glasses of champagne went around. The evening was an eye-opener for those who didn’t know that there are several types of domestic abuse that occur every day.
