Other details: Social Media Week kicked off in NYC with a networking event at Suite 36 in midtown Manhattan, presented by Pubslush, a digital analytics platform for authors, and digital PR agency Small GIrls PR. Social media mavens and Web innovators gathered in the two-level space to mingle and network with prospective entrepreneurs over drinks and tasty appetizers like popcorn chicken and seasoned fries. While guests took photos in front of the Pubslush step-and-repeat and hashtagged #BestoftheBest on Instagram and Twitter, the crowd got to hear innovators from small Web-based businesses speak about how social media has impacted their brands, like Jen Glantz, author of All My Friends are Engaged, and Broke & Chic blogger Amanda Raye.
