Other details: The Bob Woodruff foundation and New York Comedy Festival joined forces last night to honor injured service members and their caregivers at Madison Square Garden. The two-day event kicked off on Tuesday with Style4Heroes, an event founded by Mary Alice Stephenson and Lee Woodruff. Stephenson and her arsenal of fashionable friends, including Lucy Sykes-Rellie, Gina Kelly, Susan Joy and Gabrielle Swan, were on hand to style caregivers for the Bob Woodruff foundation’s annual Stand Up For Heroes event. “We really believe that the caregivers and service members here today deserve to be celebrated AND PAMPERED,” says Stephenson. Mary Alice Stephenson [Mary Alice Stephenson, Shane Parsons] A bevy of top tier designers including Calvin Klein, Zac Posen, Kara Ross, Via Spiga, Tia Cibani, Miriam Haskell and Fenton/Fallon, donated goods to help Mary Alice and her GLAM4GOOD team create red carpet ready look. Showing their gratitude for the veterans and their caregivers, the annual Stand Up For Heroes event, last night, opened with a message from Michelle Obama and Jill Biden. Jon Stewart then took the stage, making way for comedic relief from Bill Cosby, Jim Gaffigan and Jerry Seinfeld. While performing with Roger Waters, the MusiCorps Wounded Warrior Band stole the show with their moving rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” Causing a fundraising frenzy, the floor was then opened for donations, raising a staggering $550K in less than five minutes. A generous audience member eagerly climbed onto the stage to rally support. Bruce Springsteen also performed. Springsteen’s Fender guitar, as well as a private guitar lesson and recording session at his home was later auctioned off for $250K. Springsteen responded, “Cya at my house!” Mary Alice Stephenson [Mary Alice Stephenson; Photographs by by Sioux Nesi]
