Where: Xcubicle Other details: Shopping will never be the same for New York City, as this weekend marked the opening of the first-ever Bitcoin Fair inside the Hester Street Fair on the Lower East Side. Open to the public at no cost, the Bitcoin Fair introduced attendees to over 30 vendors that are now accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment. Ranging from fashion, to cuisine, to technology, like Melt Bakery and The Nomad Truck, the selection of vendors was wide and offered something for everyone. Several vendors at the fair were built on the basis of accepting Bitcoin as currency, much like Bitcoin Center. The first brick-and-mortar Bitcoin store of its kind, conveniently located next to the New York Stock Exchange, Bitcoin Center is dedicated to educating the public on the use and adoption of the digital currency. From now through October 26th, the Bitcoin Fair will be open every Sunday at the Hester Street Fair. Not only will there be vendors, but the fair will also host special events, meetups, and workshops to understand the use of Bitcoin at the neighboring tech space, Xcubicle.
