Interview Magazine and Maison Martin Margiela hosted a special event in the Lower East Side to celebrate fashion house's fragrances and their collaborative photography project. Elle Dee, who was in a black double-breasted Margiela blazer/dress, spun music as a projector displayed photos selected by influencers on the wall. Daniel Arsham, May Kwok, Leandra Medine, and Devandra Banhart were a few of the people asked to submit a photo from a memory that is triggered by one of the 7 Margiela scents. The scents themselves all replace fragrance notes with memory profiles, such as the 'At The Barber's, Madrid, 1992.'
Guests including Scott Lipps, Jessie Andrews, Katie Gallagher, and Jeremy Kost sipped on champagne and small bites as they went downstairs to smell the scents. The food and drinks were remarkable, with unique but decadent desserts serving as one of the highlights of the night. Panna cotta with raspberry jam in a cherry tomato was even better to taste than to look at, while the chocolate lollipop with a touch of bourbon inside (served in a Margiela-branded box) was a crowd favorite. The event was a fun way to celebrate both brands and highlight one of the finest aspects of the Margiela brand.
