Other details: Last night, eBay held its Future of Shopping event at Industria Superstudio, presenting an exhibit of curated collections highlighting brand new features on the shopping website. The event featured a handful of collections and installations from various tastemakers, including Pharrell Williams, Solange Knowles, Darcy Miller, Eddie Borgo, and many more. At the party, guests floated around the large studio space exploring each and every collection, which ranged from Ryan Block's coffee beans (which added an aroma to the room) to Lucy Sykes' unmissable 'Chic Baby' balloons in the center of the room. Euan Rellie, Lucy Sykes RellieChris Benz [Euan Rellie, Lucy Sykes-Rellie][Chris Benz] Wine and and an impressively wide variety of amuse-bouche were served, but we opted to focus on the rhubarb-gin cocktails. We stopped to ask designer Chris Benz about what it's like to add this project to a designer's schedule but he rolled his eyes at the perceived notion of an intensely grueling schedule, and joked that he sleeps 18 hours a day. We were also happy to see Waris Ahluwalia again after his beautiful Forevermark diamond presentation last week. He came by to see his friend Michael Phillips Moskowitz, but we couldn't help but plead for another House of Waris Tea Room and inquire about "Grand Budapest Hotel." Renowned DJ Ross One played an amazing set, spinning everything from cult artists like Gang Gang Dance to Daft Punk's "Get Lucky," which may have been a nod to Pharrell's Daft Punk pieces on display. The party followed the conference held in the morning, which featured speakers Pharrell, Devin Wenig, and more discussing the partnership and new direction of eBay. The site will continue to serve as an auction platform, but will also further its retail component and present collections, curators people can follow, new profiles, and eBay Today, which is a new way to browse the best collections. eBay's Devin Wenig Presents The Future of Shopping [Photos via @guestofaguest]
