Other details: Last night "The Mind's Eye: The Art of Omni" book launched with a celebratory party at The Wayfarer. The book collects images from Omni Magazine's 18-year run as the leading science-fiction magazine from 1978-1995. Omni is where notable writers including "Game of Thrones" George R.R. Martin, beat writer William S. Burroughs, and sci-fi writer Orson Scott Card all contributed original pieces and served as a launchpad to many careers. Throughout the 2nd floor lounge at the Wayfarer, images from the magazine were laid out for guests to observe. There were even View-Masters hanging from the ceiling, which guests were enamored with and requested to purchase alongside the book. The Wayfarer's signature Absolut Elyx cocktails were served along with small bites, and following the event, guests left with a print from the book.
