World Science Festival Gala

World Science Festival Gala
Where: Allen Room at Lincoln Center Other details: Last night, The World Science Festival put on a performing arts salute to science honoring Dr. Mary-Claire King and her contributions to the science community at The Allen Room. Guests were treated to "genetically-modified" champagne upon arrival. The champagne was specifically engineered for the event, with every meticulous detail being carefully combed over and related to the evening's theme in some way. The performance aspect during dinner chronicled the journey of King's career and numerous other notable woman in science. Afterwards, dessert was served in the atrium where guests could indulge on liquid nitrogen frozen ice cream from Kyl21 or consume a ginger root beer float in an edible cup from Loliware, while Shoots and Roots Bitters, Alder, and wd~50 were serving up specialty cocktails.
